The Ponsonby Manor was the grand opening of a three-month trip to New Zealand for us. Not only the hotel itself is beautifully decorated and located in one of Auckland’s most charming areas, is very well equipped and offers a great Ahtmosphäre but especially Jill, the Gatgeberin is incredibly warm and friendly and provided us with all sorts of tips and useful information, so we say goodbye really was hard !! Just great !!!

“A fantastic place to stay”

On a recent trip to Auckland we decided that we would prefer not to stay in the city and so looked for accommodation options around the Ponsonby area. We came across Ponsonby Manor on Trip Advisor and was very impressed with the reviews and style of the manor. Our experience of the manor and Jill, the manager, were even more than we expected. It has to be one of the best places we have stayed in Auckland. We had the room downstairs at the front and it was perfect and quiet despite being on the Ponsonby Road. We cannot recommend Ponsonby Manor enough and plan to book again when we travel to Auckland on our next trip.

we used this hotel as our base for a months holiday whilst travelling and visiting family in n.z.and i have got to say we could not have had a better service,the bedrooms we stayed in were all in excellent order very clean and beautifully decorated to a very high standard and when you include the fact that you can rely on a host like jill who runs the hotel with her friendly staff then ponsonby manor becomes like a home from home, ponsonby is a great location just outside auckland city centre (10 mins by bus or 20 min walk,great bus service), we thought this hotel would be a base for us,how wrong could we be,ponsonby manor will live long in our memory it became a huge part of our trip, all we can say is a huge thanks to jill and her staff,you added greatly to our holiday in n.z,i would not hesitate to recomend this hotel to anyone.
Room Tip: room 9 has great views of auckland city from the rooms balcony(skytower,rangitoto island ect)
“Wow! Why Stay Anywhere Else in Auckland?”

After two weeks of great experiences in New Zealand, we were pretty skeptical that anything in big-city Auckland could match up. We were wrong. The Manor was one of our favorite stays in the country and is by far the best place you can stay in Auckland. Even if you’re not staying the full week (rooms are rented by the week), the rates are so reasonable that a four or five night stay makes it worthwhile financially. The location is absolutely the best. Right on Ponsonby Road with all the great bars and restaurants (incredible coffee and sweet rolls every morning just across the street!) and across the street from a bus stop with transport every 10-15 minutes that zips you to the ferry port and CBD in about 20 minutes. You can walk to any waterfront or downtown location too in about 30-40 minutes. We stayed in the Chapel Room on the second floor room with a balcony and jaw dropping view of central Auckland and the ferry terminals. We would sit sipping wine and just looking out over the city – especially beautiful at night. If you’re staying longer or want to economize a bit, the Manor has a fully equipped (with top-end appliances) kitchen and a lovely back yard with BBQ grill. Let me echo too previous accolades for Stephen and Paul. They are indeed very hospitable and professional, offering great advice and running a tight ship.
